Pathways for Black Mental Health and Wellbeing
Counselors play and important role in helping Black Americans heal from racial trauma and prioritize their overall mental health and well being. Although the task may seem difficult because of centuries of systemic racism has led to inequities in healthcare access and created unfortunately a deep distrust of many health systems.
Black Americans are more likely to experience serious psychological distress than White Americans. Thus being less likely to access mental health services. Innovative programs that acknowledge the importance of mental health and help have begun to foster trust and are building bridges to better mental health in Black Communities.
Martin Luther King, Jr., understood the importance in investing in training community leaders, That same critical investment is now happening for Black mental health advocates. We have a responsibility to create a culture that will assist and open up discussions for treatment of mental health issues.

God has given us every herb and plants to eat!
This has been fun. We have started growing all types of vegetables and fruit. We are asking for suggestions for natural ways to rid bugs. We had some cabbage but some type of bug ate the leaf's up. We do not want to use chemicals so if anyone has a suggestion please send us a note! We plan to open a Community Garden so help us get it right.

God has promised us a 120 years. Lets walk it out.
According to the Bible, God promises every human being 120 years of life. This extraordinary promise is recorded in Genesis 6:3, which reads as follows: “And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh, yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
We are what we eat, and unfortunately so many people do not eat healthy. So they walk around as a ticking time bomb.
Suffering from an over load of stress, clogged arteries, a lack of exercise and diseases that we should not have, they can be slowed down and even reversed, in some instances.
Many like our children think healthy food does not taste good, Wrong!!!
Its all in the chef.
I have heard ohh!!! turkey burgers are not good, umm until you eat one of mine. Just add a little bit of olive oil, some herbs/dash to keep it simple and a pinch of salt; red onions, tomatoes, spinach, garlic mustard, a little mayo and a little guacamole and if you just have to have cheese use mozzarella, Bon appetit! :)
